We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Operator to join our team in Tamworth.

The successful applicant will initially commence employment as part of our team as a Press Operator in our feed manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will be provided full training support required to gain competency in all aspects of the role and the onsite requirements.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Operation of the pressing system and equipment.
General Process - meeting daily production and quality targets
Maintaining a daily focus on health and safety
Following all work instructions, policies and procedures
Unloading and loading trucks
Forklift driving, manual and repetitive work
General cleaning of the workplace
Testing grains and pulses
Operation of the grain intake system
Accurate dip measurements and assistance with inventory control- including stock takes


The key skills required for this role include: 

Be able to work shift work and overtime
Have good communication skills
Willingness to perform manual and repetitive tasks
Be able to work in a team environment to meet all targets
Be reliable and motivated
Basic computer skills
Current Driver's Licence
Forklift Licence desirable

The key responsibilities for this position include:

Ensure adherences to all OHSE legislative and company policies.
Ensure all aspects of the manufacturing process for the various production facilities are managed, planned and executed within acceptable tolerances and to site targets
Investigate and rectify production & quality Issues where possible prior to product leaving site.
Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems. (OEE% Overall Equipment Efficiency & TPH) accurately recording unplanned and planned downtime, tonnes of mash and finished feed produced.
Participate in ensuring an accurate inventory stocktake is performed and discrepancies followed up.
Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (Guardian)for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment

Plant & Equipment is maintained to a safe operational standard that optimises production throughout.
Takes active responsibility and authority for all site operations in daily operations, and in absence of the site manager.
Delegate duties to competent staff during planned work and shutdowns (in accordance with skills and training).
Ensures that employees are adequately trained and signed off as competent in their roles, driving the training agenda for the site & ensuring effective succession planning. Audits the SOP/Work instructions while checking employee competency
Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of employees. (KPI's)
Ensure confined space, JSA, safety permits and procedures are followed and completed.
Prepares reports, analyses data, promotes problem solving and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and efficiencies. Captures gained efficiencies in win/win sheets.
Participate in all site audits including internal/external HSE, HACCP and Feed Safe audits. complete and close out actions as required through site manager.
Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Supervise mill workers ensuring all SOP's and operational documentation is complied, ensure worker compliance to mandatory PPE.
Plant & Equipment is maintained to a safe operational standard that optimizes production throughput.
Shift work rotating, some weekend work and over time will be required


The key skills required for this role include

Demonstrated supervisory experience - ability to lead and coach a team
5+years Industry Experience (History of working in planning manufacturing environment)
Experience with continuous improvement programs and initiatives
Strong verbal, negotiation and written communication skills
Ability to create & oversee execution of manufacturing and delivery schedules
Ability to relate to all levels of management
High attention to detail and good analytical skills
Ability to work under pressure
Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation
